Earlier this week on Monday, Mendes expressed that he was still 'figuring out' his sexuality during a concert at the red Rock Amphitheatre in Colorado.

He later clarified in November 2018:

Mendes’s most significant and well-documented relationship was with Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello.

The two had been close friends since 2014, and their chemistry became undeniable when they collaborated on the hit single “Señorita” in June 2019.

By July 2019, they confirmed they were dating, becoming one of the most talked-about celebrity couples at the time.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Mendes and Cabello quarantined together, growing closer as they shared more glimpses of their life on social media.

However, in November 2021, Mendes and Cabello announced their amicable split, stating:

Hey guys, we’ve [decided] to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever ❤️.

Sabath is also one of the producers on Mendes' upcoming, fifth studio album titled, Shawn, which is slated to drop next month on November 15
